Everyone – well, anyone with taste – loves a cagoule. And with the summer going from “Varied, but not bad” to “Right, it’s officially terrible,” we’re all going to need one in the next couple of months.

Our eyes have been caught by the new range of waterproofs from Peter Storm. If you’re a student of British street style or just a bit weird (us), then you’ll know that Peter Storm jackets were an absolute essential item for early casuals in the late 1970s.

Yet, while every other retro brand has returned with old-school collections, Peter Storm’s been seemingly unaware of the clamour for its raincoats. Even The brilliant Awaydays film, in which the gang wear PS-like cagoules, couldn’t prompt it to make some reissues.

Thankfully, that’s changed.

The new range of waterproof jackets from Peter Storm keeps the silhouette of the originals, but adds new colours to the standard blue and green versions. There's also a fishing hat that our editor couldn't resist – as can been in the accompanying pictures.
