Alan Paine classic cricket jumper

Cricket, like tennis, is a sport partly defined – certainly in our eyes – by the clothes its players wear. And, as lovers of anything old fashioned and little bit fusty, we're always going to like a decently designed cricket jumper. This one from Alan Paine is just the ticket.

AP has some history in the manufacture of these most august of sporting garments – in 1953 it made a sweater for the Ashes-winning England team, a natty number made of cable-knit cotton with the fetching three-lions crest on the front. And while we can't all captain the country's other First XI, thanks to the '53-vintage's re-relase in this year's spring/summer collection we can look like we do. Six!
