Harry Stedman: updating ’60s style for the modern man

Check the weather outside.
Hot? Sunny? No, not yet. But whether the elements are playing ball or not, spring and summer are definitely on the way.
What's making us long even more for those sunny days is the new collection by London brand Harry Stedman. Mr Stedman, originally from Liverpool, is the grandfather of the label's two owners, and his influence dominates the range.
"Founded in 2011, Harry Stedman produces timeless pieces for the modern man," says the brand. "Harry himself was part of the British Army and his influences are inspired by his adventures all around the world. Embracing local culture from places such as New York, South America and Africa, the brand has taken elements of these countries and translated into wearable attire."
This season's clothes are a mix of mid-century European and American mid-century with the focus on button-down shirts, lightweight parkas and Ventile macs. It all comes together beautifully.
Stedman says: "The Spring/Summer 2015 collection takes us back to when Harry returned home from his long trips out at the sea. His summer would consist of meeting up with his girl and heading for the beach to fool around. The collection resonates his casual and practical nature of his youth with bold colours infused into this collection and a range of different fabrics are used."
We'll be featuring more Harry Stedman in the printed issue of Umbrella, but for now, enjoy our picks of this stunning new range. It's one hell of a ride.
