The seventh issue of the magazine is going to be out in the next week or two, crammed with brilliant features that take in everything from the changing priorities of football management to one of Europe’s quirkiest metro systems. And of course, there’s the fashion.
Umbrella is a magazine that lives and dies by its clothes, which is why two weeks back, the magazine’s HQ was inundated with countless bags and boxes crammed full of great clobber.
When the garments arrive, the task is to choose the stuff that we think reflects the ethos of Umbrella and its readers, which involves sifting through everything and er… trying it all on. When your place of work is full of beautiful threads from the likes of Stone Island, CP Company, Paul & Shark, Esemplare, Adidas and Nike NSW, it’s hard not to get carried away.
This issue we’ve we concentrated largely on outerwear, due to a) the coming autumn/winter season and b) the fact that there are few things that give us more pleasure than putting on a big coat. We know our readers feel the same way.
The selection you’ll see is fantastic – chic, beautifully designed and absolutely in tune with our philosophy of tailored casual. Whether you’re a regular visitor to Manchester’s beautiful Marble Arch boozer or the SAS lounge at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, there’s plenty here to keep you looking smart in that uniquely Umbrella manner.
As ever, we appreciate the support you’ve given us over the last two years, and that in return we’ve kept you’ve educated, amused and inspired. Because that’s what men’s magazine should do. Can’t wait ’til the new issue.
